Midnight Watch: Welcoming 2026 with Faith and Commitment

As I write this final blog post of 2025, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. What a year it has been for our Thomas County Sheriff's Office family and our community.

Year-End Gratitude

Thank you to every deputy who served with courage and integrity this year. You've responded to thousands of calls, protected countless families, and represented the badge with honor.

Thank you to the families who shared their loved ones with our community—who understood missed dinners, interrupted sleep, and holiday duty schedules.

Thank you to Thomas County citizens who supported our officers, prayed for our safety, and partnered with us to keep our community strong.

Thank you to Sheriff Carlton Powell and our leadership team for creating an environment where faith, service, and excellence intersect.

"Heavenly Father, as we step into 2026, we dedicate this new year to You. We commit our Thomas County Sheriff's Office to Your purposes and Your protection.

Bless every officer who will serve in the coming year. Give them wisdom in complex situations, courage in dangerous moments, and compassion for others. Protect their physical safety and guard their hearts from cynicism.

Bless our families. Strengthen marriages, nurture our children, and help us balance the demands of service with the needs of home.

Bless our community. Help us build bridges of trust, create partnerships of purpose, and maintain the peace You desire for Thomas County.
